Not only that,,,the netting station at the mouth of the river has hardly been in use this year due to the high river levels,,,should come in to play now that the water's dropping.

Have people noticed the 'season so far' icon has gone off fishtweed?
Just spoke to fishscotland and apparently the Tweed Board/Commissioners requested it to be taken off.
Any suggestions why? Because the river is fishing badly and it may impact sales perhaps?

Most definitely,,,as far as I'm concerned the tweed commissioners are a bunch of bandits,,,,,speaking from personal experience,,,, and can not be broad casted in detail on a public forum. If there are not a lot of fish in the tweed THEY ONLY HAVE THEMSELVES TO BLAME.

So what difference would a barrier make across the Whiteadder?

The tweed commissioners ,bailiffs or whatever they call themselves couldn't give a monkeys chuff about the fish in the whitty, the only thing is many of these fish are tweed fish, and many head back down the whitty and head on up the tweed,,,,but not if they are being netted,as i said before THEY ONLY HAVE THEMSELVES TO BLAME.

TA,
the Rcent Catches issue might well be something to do with a running spat in T&S between a recent correspondent(articles) and another recent correspondent (letters).
Some light forensic reading from about April onwards should provide further indications......!
Lovely fresh grilse yesterday albeit slightly skinny yesterday in the Mill Stream lower boils at the pipe from UH and my pal had another of 9.5 lbs in spanking nick from the Upper Winter Cast.
A nice day out complemented by a tippety top BBQ.

Cheers Fenton,
we were on Upper Hendersyde for a couple of days BBQing and messing about but as the weather was so good we fished hard.

ZH,
You did better than me this week anyway....... Although i did spot a 500 pounder!
A massive bow wake caught my attention........... was this to be my 70 pounder?.......... no the wakes were too big......... an otter?............ no....... eventually a whiskered head popped out of the water about 10 yards from where I was fishing .
A seal!
It quickly scoured the pool, swam past every spot I had ever caught a fish in this pool, then turned and headed back down stream.
I wonder how long he will hang about for?.....

I hear someone in that reach of the river who has recently got a rifle.I'd hazard a guess its to apprehend Sammy and his blubbery freinds and not for Bambi chasing.
They'll be needing a "Various" and "Exotic" column in the Fish Book and hoping it doesn't wash up on the oposite bank.

Billy, are the fish you're catching Salmon, or Grilse? What size are the grilse? Are you getting any resident fish in the pools yet?
