Was down at Maryc today and had 2 fish and lost 1 after being on for a couple of mins. ;D The first was about 5lbs and the second one was between 10 and 11 lbs. Both fish were sealiced. This was the second fish.

The big one was down at the bottom (bit of a deep wade) and the small one was up at the top run.

Had one and lost one tonight in the Culter Burn pool - what a wade though. Saw my life flash before my eyes a couple of times Amazing that fish will hold so high up the pool. I had thought they would have been below the burn mouth. Had a heavy bottle tube (GRitchie's from Fly Swap) on and fast sink tip - still didn't touch the bottom Well done, Stuart The 11lb fish was smashing

Good to hear you got another one Neil. It's a bit scary especially at the top of the pool, deep and with a fast current. I had a few hart stopping moments when the bottom moved as I was almost up to the top of my waders I certainly wouldn't go there if the water was any higher. I caught it just over half way down the pool just after loosing another one of around 10 lbs. I had managed to get it back to our side and into the slower ? Water when it gave some big head shakes and was off. Very good day though.

Lovely fish Sloggi, well done. So good to see the Dee doing so well. 10 years of C&R paying off. You know the theory poor spring run - good summer run. Anyone know of the good summer run - good spring run the following year theory?

Thanks for comments guys. Had another tonight at Maryculter - 5lb, sea liced. Unfortunately I never saw/touched the 25lb fish caught on the beat above - must have been a cracker Greenalert - look out, Sloggi's about on Saturday at Kingcausie. Good tides this week for Kingcausie & Maryculter and water is dropping

Also where did you catch it and what was the killer method? Cheers Thanks JKboy I think approx 15lb - took a while to play, then took quick snap, and returned so didn't measure. Taken from the High Bank pool on Maryculter Hotel water. Method was 13' Loop Blue Line, intermediate shooting head, and orange/black conehead (pictured above). Had the fish tonight on same set-up.
