Boleside should be worth a try now.

River seems to be settling down, this should help all as the fish slow and rest up a little. Interesting to see that a goodly amount of mid-teens fish are getting caught, not the usual Tweed size in Spring. Wonder if last years' poor year class of 1sw fish have stayed out at sea longer and found some good snap. A few more days of settled levels and I'll be fishing a bottom beat in reasonable hope.

I don't know the water, but an interesting way of letting the beat. I could be tempted if it were good fly water. Springer could organise a day and all members could turn up and fish the Tweed for 50p

£250 per day, about £50 per rod which is cheap compared to other upper tweed prices. The other beats are mainly single bank as well.
I'd be game for a trip late Oct/ early Dec.

Thought Michael Evans had Caberston. Or is it just Upper Caberston he has?

ME has Upper Caberston - bottom of the beat is at the metal bridge in Walkerburn. Lower Caberston is below the bridge.
Out of interest, there is a photo in one of his books of Hugh Falkus outside the fishing hut at Caberston. Not sure which beat.

I thought I would bump this up again to see if anyone was interested in the prospect of Lower Caberston, or if anyone knows the water.

Fished Ravenswood today (9th April) Water height was 6" and water temp 50deg air temp was 60 deg. Nice overcast day compared with the bright sun forecast which was a bonus but the wind was blustery at times.Water was very low and clear. A couple of fish showed in the Crom in the morning and one in Cockburns in the afternoon. Not much activity on the other bank at either Blankerside or Gledswood. Nothing doing but it was lovely to be out and had the floating midspey on for the first time with a 5ft intermediate poly leader and the fly fished round beautifully.

Got first Tweed springer this year at Upper Hendersyde as well as having a hold of two or three more albeit briefly when the low flows (minus 2 on the gauge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and wind called for a bit of Colliedog/Sunray session in the Ferry Stream this afternoon.Decided to see if the jumpers under my nose end were takers and boy they were!Never fished a Collie Dug on Tweed before and pleased to report a dgree of effectiveness. My compatriat DC had another river fish and lost one on a Yellow 'Un.
Never seen UH so low at this time of year and this week is gonna be a challenge for the rest of the lads.Saw plenty of fish and there were fresh fish moving thro after lunchtime but I doubt cracking the 30 year record,as we nearly did last year,is in danger.
As per your set-up Splash, nice to have a Carron floater and intermediate tip up but the wind was just a plain from time to time.Might well have a go with a shooting head on Friday if still windy and will persevere with the exciting top of the water stuff-roll on Friday/Saturday and more casting with hangover.

Has been ill with chest bug, virus, head cold etc which I think is shorthand for darts defeat, beaten favourite on the all weather and bout of McEwans flu etc.In fairness he was quieter than his normal self with no traditional "looks kind of empty to me" Monday morning gee up for the troops as we walked up the Mill Stream and no boating it today on the grounds of "disturbance".
Slight spring in step when we headed to the White to meet The Factor and Wee John holding court wth Le Tigre.Possibly related to the big performance art gesture made of "just popping out to call Greedline" reportage of (wildly unexpected)sparkling results to The Lemming-Line-first and last time for that this week methinks given state of water.
Famous Grouse tb replaced by litre of Glenmogadon for hut drams on Friday eve.
Will bash ahead with more attempts at "surface action" on Friday/Sat Splash.

I thought I would bump this up again to see if anyone was interested in the prospect of Lower Caberston, or if anyone knows the water. I don't know the water (in fact I don't know the Tweed!) but would certainly be interested in a day in November. Looking at the catches on the beats above and below, it looks like it could be worth a shot. Good of you to volunteer the organisation of it RM. ;D

Hmm, thought you would say that. Well as Springer got his fingers burnt, or so to speak organising a Newtyle meet, I will stick my neck out and do this one.
So, anyone fancy a day at Lower Caberston. Hands up if you are in. A quick idea on dates would be handy too, looks like if we get a move on the choice is ours.
Who's in?

I would definitely be on for that - either day. What's a sensible number of rods? Has anyone ever seen the beat? Cheap fishing really and no doubt a good day out.

Sounds ideal Andy!
I've just e-mailed the contact on fishtweed for any further info.
When I get back home this evening, I'll start a new thread, and we can gauge interest.
