According to Tony at Murthly,he keeps a diary this is the year that in June the BIG fish come in.That is or was the norm at one time.. Some of the bigger fish we have caught, say in Aug/Sept, looked like they had come in during June ! I wish RM I could guarantee things for you in June , but.......................... However we did get one today, I know that is no help for June but I just thought I'd mention it ! Thanks for your kindness bulltrout, much appreciated, and , I got the card in the door this morning thank you.

Fished Kercock today. Cracking sport with the brownies on a Collie Dog Had brownies to 1.5lbs in the morning, and lost one that was easily 4lbs, maybe more - between the two croys on the lower beat. Fished a Cascade variation in the afternoon and never got a touch. I decided to switch back onto the Collie dog about 5(ish) and hooked a good fish. Got it to within a rod length (ish) when the hook lost it's hold. I had a wee heated discussion with myself

Seems to be a few fish around now but they do seem to be belting on up the river. Advice I have been giving of late is to use the upstream Toby, flying C or a Rapala, all having been succesful over the past ten days or so. There has been the occasional success with the fly too of course. A PDAA member had a superb conditioned 18lbs PIKE yesterday on a tube fly I don't know who was more surprised,Gary, myself ,several witnesses or the bloody Pike. It was a fair ding dong of a battle, nobody knew it was a pike untils it came near the surface prior to netting. The guy was gutted, the pike wasn't.!

Had an enjoyable, but fishless day with Dennis on monday. Kercock is a great beat and I can't wait to fish it again. Two top gillies in Dennis and Gary, many thanks for all the help.
Particular thanks to Dennis for arranging the Montieth line and also blowing me away with the Le Cie set up! The good news is that Flybe have managed to lose my rod on return this evening, and if they don't find it I know what I'll be asking for in return!
The Monteith was very good and certainly if I was going to use it regularly I wouldn't hesitate. Flybe did not lose my Rio Midspey (just as well as it was attached to a Marquis 3) so that will have to stay with me a while longer.
