I,ve fished Kercock many times and on each occassion Dennis has gone out of his way to try and ensure that everyone in the party has the best possible chance of making contact with a fish whether they choose to fish with a fly rod or spinner ,not only that be he is always more than happy to help anyone with information, tuition .There is always a welcoming smile and a hot cup of coffee at the lodge .A great ghillie and a great guy  Nuff said  |

just ask il give you my ad,,, then we can maybe get together for a days fishing ,, il learn you how to fish correctly Perhaps concentrating on your grasp of English, paying particular attention to spelling, grammar and usage of upper/lower case text would be a more appropriate use of your time.  I'm with macsalmo btw, come on Colin/Willie/Graham, we want a yawning smiley, nice one Gary ;D. |

No one's command of English, and grammar generally, is this bad - not even '9nro' . This is obviously a ploy to throw people off the 'scent'. Agree with Scotty's comment above. Blank him guy's cos he is loving this.  |

Such a shame that all this drivel can't be edited out of a website that I love to look at and be part of.
Sad that various people with chipped shoulders try to ruin it. I suspect it's actually 1 or 2 people with various names.
I am not IT-savvy, but this is putting me right off.

I suspect it's actually 1 or 2 people with various names. I am not IT-savvy, but this is putting me right off. Totally agree Stoater. A clean up is required. IP addresses checked and multiple identities etc. dealt with. If it does not happen soon then it will be the start of the slow, but sure demise of this forum, as the more sensible get fed up with it all and seek pastures new. Banter is good fun, but there does appear to be some who don't appreciate it for what it is, others who occasionally take it too far, and then we have the one or two idiots who just abuse the forum.  |

Sorry Springer but I just don't get this. I simply agreed with Jock, Stoater and Hardygem, particularly in his last paragraph, that we need to move on and not bicker amongst ourselves and that "we don't need to do it to each other" - what is the problem ? It looks to me as if you are trying to find fault with every post I make and for the life of me I don't know why. When I made the post in question I actually thought we were talking about the sort of crap that 'notipping' has been regularly inflicting on Kercock and NOT about comments made on any other existing thread. I assume that the mention of multiple identities or the "one or two idiots" comment that it was not directed at me - I maybe wrong and would appreciate if any of the above members would let me know if it was. If this is the case then I am simply at a loss for words. I have only one 'account' here and as far as I am concerned I have only ever 'answered back' when it was warranted and as a result of someone else having a pop at me directly or indirectly. I feel that you have made a genuine mistake here in assuming that I was trying to fan some sort of flame or carrying some sort of grievance over to this thread. Not so my good friend. As for "all this shite about love and peace" may I state that in my reply to Hardygem that I was simply following on from his 'sign off'..........what is the problem with that ( I thought it was actually quite nice !). As for your 3 times use of the word "trouble / troublesome" in your post may I respectfully suggest that you direct this elsewhere and NOT in my direction as there are troublemakers here and I am not one of them. Please read my posts (all of them) - then look at where the "trouble" has arisen from and I can guarantee that it has not emanated from me.........go on !!.....read them........... it should be pretty obvious. Don't worry - I will not ask for an apology - all I will ask is that you get off my back for once and for all in order that I can continue to enjoy this forum as best I can and to contribute in a worthwhile way. Look at my INITIAL post on yesterdays 'blood bath' thread - "Influences of Salmon Fishing Writers" where I simply stated my admiration for the writings of Falkus - then look at Willie Gunn's reply to me - then look at my reply to WG - then look at his reply to me......... even to a blind man it is pretty obvious where the fault lies.........and it ain't with me !!
Get of my case Springer !! I would really appreciate that - afford me that courtesy and I shall do the same for you. CAN WE MOVE ON NOW ?

I would have to support sinkingtip on this one. He never made a direct attack on anybody, and yet has received one for his troubles.
I do not know sinkingtip and I was one of the first to have a disagreement with him on this forum. However, once he explained what he meant in his posts, I was more than content to accept that this was his style, and have since found his posts entertaining, showing both a sense of humour and a depth of knowledge. It seems to me that he has genuinely tried to contribute to the forum, as have a lot of the members who seem keen to attack him.
We have had drawn out disagreements on the forum before sinkingtip joined, and the fact that these were resolved in a mature fashion only strengthened the forum. It takes two (or in this case a lot more than two).
Let's put it all behind us and not destroy the forum with personal attacks and vendettas.
The nonsense over the last couple of weeks has almost been enough for me to stop visiting the forum; I am certain that this will be the case for other members.

I've only been registered with this forum for a couple of weeks but it is painfully obvious that one or two people on here just can't get along. It's so obvious that I've a mental picture of them logging on & rubbing their hands wondering " How can I upset him today?". Personal attacks just aren't on. It makes me wonder how vocal the protagonists would be if they were face to face?  On a personal note , if I've seemed frivolous,out of order or off thread in anything I've posted here, then you have my appologies. Someone called me "pal" on the writers post the other night. The last time someone called me "pal", he took a swing at me 2 secs later. Genuinely hope that it wasn't meant that way this time. Get a grip , lads. This is meant to be informative and FU N. |

Got to agree with you fruin over the last week things have been getting out of hand and visiting this forum is not as enjoyable as it was.Lets hope things are put to bed now and move on.

Well said Fruin, and although I tend to skip through many of the argumentative threads, I do think Sinkingtip appears to be very knowledgeable and he has contributed some interesting stuff.
IMO, ST and one or two others are probably "abrasive" characters in real life and things have just got out of hand. I can't really blame ST for defending himself, but he is the new kid on the block and, for the good of the forum, I hope he can start taking some comments with a "pinch of salt", and don't rise to it!
Thank God it's mid- March and the clocks go forward on Sunday - we all need to get out more! ;D

Let me state finally, yet again, that I shall make a real effort not to intentionally cause upset to any forum member - not that I ever did - and in the interests of this forum and with respect to the many people who make a genuine contribution I shall in future think long and hard about the manner in which I post, its delivery and content and its likelihood to cause upset however slight...... and "not rise to it" (elwyman). I really cant do any more.
"Comments with a pinch of salt" - no problem - never was a problem but there are "comments" and there is being told to "get to f**k" by a certain member on more than one occasion. The matter is now over as far as I am concerned. This is Kercocks thread - let it continue in this way. Regards to all as always.

I pointed out that your apostrophe key was stuck, please re read your post and agree it is simply not good english, you then asked why and I posted a page from a website defining the correct usage. Simple If you have a major problem with anyone correcting you; a public forum is not where you should be. Now leave it alone. Take your chips off your shoulders and move on.
